We pack our orders by hand and we take great care with our deliveries because fish is perishable so our deliveries must be reliable and very fast. For these reasons, our delivery charges are higher than those for items such as books or clothes.
We deliver on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday. Except on Bank Holidays.
We’re not able to offer delivery slots however DPD will email or text you with information on your delivery. If the courier is not able to find you we ask them to leave the package in a safe place. For any problems with your delivery please call us on the day so we can request more information on your behalf.
All our courier deliveries are done via DPD Next Day. You will be emailed or texted the tracking details by DPD in advance.
Local Deliveries are made by one of friendly staff and we require a phone number so we can text you delivery updates. You will not be able to track the local deliveries.
Our courier will leave the package in a safe place if they cannot contact you. The package does not require a signature.
We use well insulated boxes and include ice packs in all our packages. Although the ice-packs may melt be assured the temperature of the box will stay constant to ensure the minimum chill time doesn’t change. Our packages can safely be in transit for up to one day.
Yes, it’s normal for the ice-packs to melt in transit over time. Be assured that the box and the slowly melting ice packs will have kept your items cool during transit. If the fish is still cold to touch when it arrives your order should still be perfectly fine, and equally as delicious.

No unfortunately once an order has been processed it’s no longer possible to cancel it. We prepare all our orders by hand so we have a very tight schedule we need to keep.

We don’t offer gift wrapping however we hand pack all our orders to the highest standards so rest assured your gift will be beautifully presented.

We smoke our fish in truly traditional way for at least 12 hours in our 100 year old smokehouse. The build up of tar and our cold slow smoking process enhances the smoky taste of the fish.
We don’t inject our fish with water or smoke essence, as is common in commercial fish smoking processes.
We source our fish from hand picked suppliers in Scotland and Iceland who follow sustainability and animal welfare practices.
The fish may contain bones. We do our best to de-bone all our fish fillets however small bones may remain.
The Food Standards Agency recommends two portions of fish a week. Fish is rich in protein and minerals and salmon and trout are rich is in omega 3 fatty acids.
No please do not give raw fish to children as it can be a source of food poisoning. Do not give fish to babies younger than 6 months.
Our fish is brined and cured in salt however the level of salt retained in the ready to eat product is relatively low at 1%.

All our packaging can be recycled. Please separate any of the plastic from the cardboard and recycle according to your local authority's advice.

The haddock is Icelandic or north east Atlantic. Haddock prefer the deep cold water of the North Atlantic and as UK waters continue to warm then fish have moved naturally further North.
We buy our haddock almost exclusively from Iceland, the Icelandic manage their fisheries meticulously and provide a sustainable well managed stock.
All of our salmon is farmed on some of the most regulated and well managed farms in Scotland. We pride ourselves on buying the freshest and best there is. Wild salmon simply isn’t available and can be as much as 30 times more expensive than farmed.
Yes smoked salmon can be added to recipes.
Hot smoked salmon is also delicious, just pop a portions in the oven cook thoroughly serve or flake into salads or pasta.
Pan fry smoked salmon, it's usually best to add it to a dish as flavoring at the very end of the cooking time. Snip your smoked salmon into pieces about the size of your thumb's first section and scatter them on top of scrambled eggs with onions or cream sauce for pasta.
