Welcome to Alfred Enderby Ltd in Grimsby, one of only a few independent family run traditional fish smoking firms left in England. Our traditional smokehouse, with its distinctive tall chimneys, is about 100 years old with two generations of Enderby family involved in running it for two thirds of that time.
Recently at Alfred Enderby Ltd we have been proud to receive a Protected Geographical Indication from the European Union for our specialist product Grimsby Traditional Smoked Fish, in recognition of the unique skill involved in its traditional production. This method of production has been refined over many years to infuse our smoked fish with the very best natural flavours.
We pride ourselves on the high quality of skill and craftsmanship that goes into our smoked fish products. The haddock and cod we use in our Grimsby Traditional Smoked Fish is line caught and comes from recognised sustainable fisheries in Iceland, Faroe and Norway. Our salmon is selected from specific farms in the Shetland Islands of Northern Scotland for the care that goes into maintaining those farms and the high quality of the salmon that they produce.
